From Dreams to Reality: My Journey as a Latina Entrepreneur in the U.S.

We Finally Have a Blog!

After so much time wanting a space to share knowledge and experience, we’ve finally made it happen. Now we have a place for anyone who wants to learn, grow, and even find inspiration in the world of entrepreneurship.

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a bit more about my journey and how AVR Media Group was born.

My name is Ana Veronica Rosales. I’m from Venezuela, but in 2010, I moved to the United States. I’m a journalist and photographer by profession and passion. I’ve always been drawn to images, to capturing moments, to freezing in time those unique experiences that make up our daily lives.

I remember the day I had to leave my country like it was yesterday. Leaving my homeland was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. It wasn’t just about leaving my country—it meant leaving my family, my friends, and the home where I had spent my entire life. I was leaving behind everything familiar, everything safe.

I won’t say my first years in the U.S. were easy. Like many immigrants, I went through difficult moments, filled with lessons, courage, and above all, resilience. That’s when I realized that patience is a powerful and valuable virtue.

Patience and gratitude gave me peace during moments of deep uncertainty. There were times when I wanted to return to Venezuela, but my determination reminded me that everything I was going through was part of the journey—part of the growth I needed at that moment.

I worked many jobs to support myself, but in my free time, I took photos for free at parties and events to showcase my talent. I’ll never forget a day back in 2013 when I was cleaning offices. Alex, the accountant at that firm, said to me:

“Ana, you should register your business. That way, you can offer your services more professionally.”

At first, the idea seemed ridiculous to me, but his words stuck with me. The next day, I told him:

“Alex, you know what? You’re right. Help me start my company.”

And that’s how AVR Media Group was born—named after my own initials.

Today, in 2025, AVR Media Group is part of the 0.1% of video production companies founded by Latina women in the United States—a milestone that fills me with pride and proves that there are no limits when you work with passion, discipline, and perseverance.

In this country, I’ve learned that those who persevere, succeed. That when you believe in yourself, no matter the circumstances, you will always stand out, and your inner strength will lead you to the places you once dreamed of.

To all the women out there with a dream, a talent, or a goal that seems impossible—I want to tell you that it IS possible.

We’ve been led to believe that some spaces aren’t meant for us, that some paths are too difficult, or that certain industries belong to others. But the truth is, there are no barriers that a determined woman cannot break.

There will be doubts, fears, and days when it feels like nothing is moving forward. But if you keep pushing, if you keep believing in yourself, one day you’ll look back and realize just how far you’ve come.

Never underestimate your ability to create, to transform, and to inspire others with your journey. You are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Believe in yourself, work with passion, and make things happen.

💫 The world needs more bold, visionary women who are ready to change the game. Will you be one of them?
